Open Events 2016

Ormiston Forge Academy in Cradley Heath is throwing open its doors next week to prospective students and their parents at its annual Open Events on Thursday 22nd September and Saturday 24th September.

Children who are due to start secondary school in September 2017 and their parents are invited to visit Forge to gain a taster of life at the academy. The doors will be open from 6.00pm–8.30pm on Thursday and 9am until 12 on Saturday.

Andrew Burns, Principal, said: “2016 has been a very good year so far, we achieved another set of excellent A level results in the summer as well as a first-class set of GCSE results (our fourth increase in four years). We have also been graded as Good by OFSTED. We’re very much looking forward to prospective parents and students coming to visit us.”

Visitors will be able to try out science experiments, view paintings, eat food in the foreign language cafe cooked by our food technology students, interact with the geography and history departments, scrutinise student books and meet our Principal, Andrew Burns; as well as participate in many other activities.

Also in attendance will be the Sandwell Sea Cadets (who have their base on site) and The Access Project who help our student improve their grades even more and get them into a top university.
