A strange end to a great day in London

As the Forge has been so well received I was invited to London to talk about the impact academies can have. It was a fantastic opportunity and I was extremely well looked after, wined and dined.

However, the day had the strangest end. The meal overran and I missed my train back to Sandwell and Dudley. I managed to get on the slow train, and I mean the slow train to Birmingham and get a taxi back to my car, finally getting in at two in the morning. I then realised I had someone else’s coat on, which had keys in the pocket. It just so happened that the coat belonged to Graham Stuart MP, Chairman of the Education Select Committee, and the keys were to his Westminster apartment and the House of Commons. How embarrassing. They do say there is no such thing as bad publicity though.
