Introducing our new Head Boy and Head Girl

Bradley Joynes and Abbie Horton have started their tenure as newly appointed Head Boy and Girl for Ormiston Forge Academy.

The positions of Head Boy and Head Girl provide a key leadership and a supportive role for students across the academy. The roles are selected annually and are open to all students in year 12 ahead of their move to year 13.

Commenting on their appointment, Brad and Abbie appreciate the important role models that they have become. They see the role as being a combination of advisor and mentor to fellow students, in particular the new year 7 students who have joined the academy this September.

“I want to be part of the ongoing success of the academy, ensuring that every student here gets the opportunity to take part in a range of activities and does well in their studies”, said Bradley who is from Cradley Heath

Abbie, from Rowley Regis added: “If I could give one piece of advice to someone who joined the academy in September it would be to get involved in a variety of activities, throw yourself into your studies and make the most of this amazing experience.”

Students join Ormiston Forge Academy at any point from year 7 to year 12 (6th form) and so the roles of Head Boy and Girl are instrumental in supporting all students as they arrive and progress throughout the academy.

Andrew Burns, Principal, added “The selection of Brad and Abbie as Head Boy and Girl is a great choice and I’m really looking forward to working with them as they take on this important role for our Forge family”.
