Numeracy (curriculum)

Subject Leader: Jacqueline Miley –

Numeracy is taught in smaller class sizes, so that students have the opportunity to share ideas and developments in understanding through group discussion and collaborative practise. It is particularly important in forging links between numeracy skills, and seeing how these relate to real life situations, such as money and time.

Numeracy lessons are targeted at specific students in year 7 and 8.

More details can be found on the numeracy website:

Autumn Term: Consolidate number bonds, explore mental and written methods for calculations. Extend the number line, and working with decimals.

Spring Term: Working with fractions, decimals percentages and ratio.

Summer term: Working with time and other measures – shape, symmetry and angles.
