The development of Extended Services on the academy site is a key part of our vision. We recognise the importance of the community and work hard to be a strong part of it. The academy works very closely with its local primary and community partners to ensure that the community has access to a wide range of services.
We aim to engage with our local community and get their views on how we can work together for the benefit of us all. The on-going work with our partners continues to grow and is used as examples of good practice.
The Forge is open for community use after academy hours, offering a range of adult education classes and sporting facilities.
What are the benefits?
There is evidence that extended services can help to:
- Improve pupil attainment, self-confidence, motivation and attendance
- Reduce exclusion rates
- Better enable teachers to focus on teaching and learning; enhance children’s and families access to services
